The Gala of the Arts features an art show and sale, with original works and giclee process pieces by local and nationally recognized artists in a wide variety of media for purchase.
FOR ARTISTS INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN 2012
As a way to keep the Art Show fresh after 11 years, the committee has decided to adjust the process for 2012. We are asking artists to please consider making a contribution to "help us help those in need" by donating one or more pieces of framed original art/photography/sculpture/gicleé, to be auctioned off, with all proceeds of the auction being donated directly back to Catholic Charities Emergency Assistance Programs. If your art should go unsold, the artist will receive a tax letter for the donation and the piece will be installed in one of our many program sites with your donation noted.
To clarify, for the 2012 Gala, we are asking artists to consider donating their artwork to the Art Show. If you would like to make a contribution, please respond by June 1, 2012. We are happy to arrange pick-up for any donated work! More information can be found at www.galaofthearts.com. We are happy to announce that several artists have already agreed to provide support for 2012, including Catholic Charities’ Board Member Tom DeMint, Gala crowd-pleaser Carol Bilder, Field Museum Artist in Residence Peggy Macnamara, nationally recognized photographer Robert Kelly, and perennial favorite Mark McMahon, just to name a few.
