The 11th Annual Gala of the Arts will take place in the Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier. Over 500 civic, community and philanthropic leaders will come together on this special evening to enjoy a live performance by Beatles cover band American English, unique works of art created by professional artists that will be on display and available for purchase and an incredible raffle.

Last year, the Gala of the Arts raised an astounding $147,000 and since 2002, the Gala has been instrumental in raising much-needed funds to support Catholic Charities’ Emergency Assistance Programs.

The Emergency Assistance Programs respond to approximately 750 requests each day from people in need and assisted more than 200,000 people - regardless of race, religion, nationality or gender - in 2011. Access to a full array of basic human needs for individuals and families who find themselves in crisis is offered.

Persons in need may reach out to Catholic Charities for help to pay a utility bill to keep their home warm, or assistance with groceries to keep themselves and their families fed during a financial predicament. Catholic Charities comforts individuals by connecting them to shelter, when an unforeseen situation occurs.

Without the assistance provided by Catholic Charities, some of the most vulnerable people in Cook and Lake Counties would have nowhere else to turn for support.
